Maine Council for the Social Studies

  • 76 Community Drive Augusta, ME, 04330 United States (map)

Rescheduling to Spring 2024

This conference connects social studies teachers from across Maine at a venue where they can meet each other, exchange ideas, learn about the latest developments in the field, and hear from historians and experts in the field. The theme of this year’s conference is Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. How teaching is changing and how are educators embracing and navigating that shift? So many of these changes are overdue and important and embraced by teachers, but the journey itself can also be overwhelming. Where can teachers find the resources they need? Support? How has (and is) teaching Social Studies changed (changing) and what does tomorrow look like for schools and our world?

Join us to share and learn the best practices around teaching economics, geography, history, technology, civics, and global studies with presentations and workshops by teachers, historians, and other professionals from Maine, New England, and beyond!
